Salesforce CPQ migration: destinations, data, timelines, and tools
Salesforce CPQ is end of sale, not end of life: you can stay, but nothing new arrives and the online docs are gone. When you move, you have three destinations — Revenue Cloud Advanced (12–18 months in practice), a Salesforce-native alternative such as Kugamon (typically 4–8 weeks), or an external CPQ. This hub links every guide you need.
Why teams migrate now
Salesforce’s own page is clear on the facts: CPQ is no longer sold to new customers, existing customers can renew and get support, there is no forced migration, and no end-of-life date exists (Salesforce). It is also clear on what that means: CPQ “will not receive new features or innovations,” and its successor is Revenue Cloud Advanced. In July 2026 Salesforce retired the online CPQ help in favor of a single PDF (KB 005388761).
So the pressure is not a deadline. It is the compounding cost of running a product that does not change while your pricing, channels, and AI tooling do. Full background: the end-of-sale timeline and end of sale vs end of life.
Three destinations
| Destination | What it is | Published price | Typical timeline | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Salesforce Revenue Cloud Advanced | Salesforce’s successor, built on core objects with a new data model. A re-implementation, not an upgrade. | $150 Growth / $200 Advanced per user per month (Salesforce) | 12–18 months in practice. | CPQ to Revenue Cloud |
| Salesforce-native alternative (Kugamon) | A managed package that uses your standard Products and Price Books; admin-led. | $65–$125 per user per month (AppExchange) | 4–8 weeks. | From Salesforce CPQ |
| External CPQ (DealHub, Nue, Conga) | Platforms that run partly or wholly outside your org and sync to Salesforce. | Not published. | Vendor-scoped. | DealHub · Nue · Conga |
What actually moves
Every migration handles the same six things. The difference between destinations is how many of them already live in standard objects.
| Data | In Salesforce CPQ | Effort | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Catalog | Standard Product2; bundles in SBQQ options and features. | Products move as-is; bundles are rebuilt. | Data migration |
| Pricing | Standard Price Books, plus SBQQ price rules, discount schedules, contracted prices, QCP scripts. | List prices move as-is; rules and scripts are rebuilt. | Data migration |
| Open quotes | SBQQ Quote and Quote Line. | Migrate open quotes only; archive the rest. | Data migration |
| Install base | SBQQ Subscription and Contract. | Required for renewals and amendments. | Data migration |
| Templates and approvals | SBQQ quote templates; Advanced Approvals. | Rebuilt in the target. | Checklist |
| Integrations | ERP, billing, e-signature, custom Apex. | Re-pointed to the target objects. | Checklist |
Tools and approaches
Salesforce provides no first-party migration tool for CPQ to Revenue Cloud Advanced; it names three partner accelerators — Forsys RevRamp, IdeaHelix, and Prodly — (Salesforce). For a native alternative, the work is mostly data loading against standard objects and is admin-led. Details: migration tools compared. If you cannot take a big-bang cutover, see phased CPQ migration.

No. Salesforce says there is no forced migration: existing customers can renew, add users, and receive support, and no end-of-life date has been announced (Salesforce). The reasons to move are practical — no new features and no online documentation — not contractual.
No first-party tool. Salesforce points to partner accelerators from Forsys (RevRamp), IdeaHelix, and Prodly, (Salesforce). Compared in migration tools.
Revenue Cloud Advanced licenses are $150–$200 per user per month (Salesforce); implementation is SI-led and not published by Salesforce. Kugamon licenses are $65–$125 per user per month with a fixed implementation fee of $30K (one-year term) or $25K (two or three years). Model both in the ROI calculator; see CPQ implementation cost.
